Mobile attendance with geofencing, for the people who never reach a terminal

A fixed biometric terminal cannot help a field engineer, a sales team or a supervisor who spends the day between three sites. The answer is phone-based marking bounded by location — and it only works properly if it writes to the same attendance record as the terminals, rather than becoming a second system.

A geofenced employee attendance app lets staff mark attendance from their phone, but only inside a defined radius of an approved location, so the punch carries proof of where it happened. At AionHRMS this is in development, not released. We are publishing the page because buyers evaluating us for field teams deserve to know what exists today (biometric terminal attendance, live now) and what does not (mobile marking), rather than finding out after signing. If mobile attendance is your primary requirement right now, we are not yet the right choice.

Where this fits, and where it does not

Mobile attendance is genuinely useful for a narrow set of roles and actively harmful for the rest. For staff who pass a gate every day, a biometric terminal is faster, harder to game and cheaper to run. Phone marking earns its place only where no terminal exists.

Why geofencing is the whole design problem

Unbounded phone attendance is worth very little, because it can be marked from anywhere including bed. The value comes entirely from the constraint: a punch is only accepted inside a defined radius of a site you have approved. Getting that constraint right — accuracy tolerance, GPS drift, indoor signal loss, and the obvious spoofing routes — is the difference between a control and a formality.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the employee attendance app today?
No. It is in development and not released. Biometric terminal attendance is live and available now. We would rather lose a deal on this than have you buy on a promise.
Will mobile attendance replace our biometric machines?
It is not designed to, and we would advise against it where a gate exists. A terminal verifies a physical person by fingerprint or face; a phone verifies a device that happens to be in the right place. For fixed sites the terminal is stronger. Mobile marking is for people with no terminal to reach.
Will phone punches and terminal punches be in the same report?
That is the design intent — one daily record per person regardless of how the attendance was captured, with the source recorded. A second, parallel attendance system is precisely the problem this product exists to remove.
What should we do if we need mobile attendance now?
Buy something that has it today. Several Indian vendors ship geofenced mobile attendance as their primary product. If you also have biometric terminals and mixed hardware, come back to us for that side, or talk to us about timing before you commit either way.
